Teaching license in UAE

In the UAE, conducting educational activities requires an official teaching license, regardless of whether it is a school, a private tutoring center, or an online learning provider. This license is regulated by government authorities to ensure the quality of educational services and compliance with local standards.

There are two main licensing channels for educational institutions in the UAE. On the mainland, licenses are issued by the Department of Economic Development (DED) jointly with the Ministry of Education (MOE), as well as the relevant regional education departments. For private schools and supplementary education centers, a license is mandatory, and obtaining one involves verifying the qualifications of teachers, ensuring that the curriculum complies with standards, and ensuring the availability of physical premises for classes.

The process of obtaining a teaching license in UAE typically involves registering a company or institution, providing statutory documents, renting an office or classroom, and submitting an educational program for regulatory approval. Teachers must have verified qualifications, and some activities (such as teaching foreign languages or vocational skills) require an appropriate teaching certificate or a license to conduct educational activities.
